Growing In Christ

To "grow in Christ" is the commandment following baptism which continues as a commandment throughout Christian life. New Christians are to desire the sincere milk of the word as a newborn desires milk after birth. The milk begins the growing.

“Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,”

“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:”

Babes in Christ have answered the call into the kingdom & need to be taught and learn the fundamentals (foundation) of the doctrine.
Babes (spiritually) are those that have little knowledge of the truth.

Isaiah 28:9
“Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.”

“For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:”

We grow spiritually from a babe in Christ, consuming the milk of the word, then continually GROWING to become a child of God.

“For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.”

“That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;”
