कोल्हापूरच्या शाहू टर्मिनस रेल्वे स्थानकावरून 16 सप्टेंबर 2024 रोजी वंदे भारत एक्सप्रेसला सुरुवात झाली. ढोल ताशांच्या गजरात या वंदे भारत एक्सप्रेसचा शुभारंभ कोल्हापूर मधून होत आहे. पंतप्रधान श्री नरेंद्र मोदी यांनी ऑनलाईन पद्धतीने या रेल्वेचे उद्घाटन केले तर रेल्वे राज्यमंत्री व्ही सोमन्ना यांनी कोल्हापूर रेल्वे स्थानकावर उपस्थित हिरवा झेंडा दाखवला.
रेल्वे सुरू होऊन काही मिनिटे होताच आयआरसीटीसी कर्मचाऱ्यांकडून पाण्याची बाटली व नाश्ता देण्यात आला. या नाष्ट्यामध्ये डाबर इंडिया लिमिटेड यासारख्या नामांकित कंपनीचा रियल ज्यूस, हल्दीराम या सुप्रसिद्ध ब्रँडचा चिवडा, लिटल चोकोपाय या कंपनीचे बिस्किट, कचोरी, गुलाबजाम, वडा, किसान कंपनीचे केचप असे खाद्य पदार्थ देण्यात आले. तसेच प्रवाशांच्या मागणीनुसार चहा व कॉफी पुरविण्यात आली.

या वंदे भारत एक्सप्रेससाठी आयआरसीटीसी डॉट इन या वेबसाईटवरून ऑनलाइन पद्धतीने बुकिंग करता येते. याशिवाय इंक्वायरी इंडियन रेल्वे जीओव्ही इन या वेबसाईटला ही आपण भेट देऊ शकता. त्याचप्रमाणे एनटीईएस या मोबाईल ॲप वरूनही आपल्याला बुकिंग करणे सहज शक्य आहे. त्याचबरोबर व्हेअर इज माय ट्रेन या मोबाईल ॲपच्या माध्यमातून या वंदे भारत एक्सप्रेस बरोबरच अन्य रेल्वेचे लोकेशन आपल्याला जाणून घेता येते. कोल्हापूर मधून प्रत्येक सोमवार, गुरुवार आणि शनिवारी सकाळी आठ वाजून पंधरा मिनिटांनी एक्सप्रेस सुटणार आहे. तर पुण्याहून बुधवार शुक्रवार आणि रविवार या तीन दिवशी सायंकाळी 7 वाजून 40 मिनिटांनी कोल्हापूरसाठी रवाना होईल.

वंदे भारत एक्सप्रेसमध्ये चेअर कार कोच आणि एक्झिक्यूटिव्ह कोच असे दोन भाग आहेत. कोल्हापूर ते पुणे या प्रवासासाठी चेअर कार कोचचे साधारणपणे 1160 रुपये, तर एक्झिक्युटिव्ह कोचचे साधारणपणे 2005 रुपये भाडे आहे. या भाड्यामध्ये तसेच जेवण, चहा नाश्ता याचाही समावेश आहे. आयआरसीटीसी म्हणजेच इंडियन रेल्वे केटरिंग टुरिझम कार्पोरेशन कंपनीच्या कर्मचाऱ्यांकडून सध्या प्रवाशांना जेवण दिले जात आहे. या जेवणामध्ये तीन चपाती व पनीरच्या दोन भाज्या, मिक्स व्हेज, गोडामध्ये मैसूर पाक, भात, डाळ, सॅलड, लोणचे असे खाद्यपदार्थ आहेत. तर जेवणानंतर प्रवाशांना अमूल कंपनीचे ताक पुरवण्यात आले.
Vande Bharat Express started on 16 September 2024 from Shahu Terminus Railway Station, Kolhapur.  The Vande Bharat Express is being launched from Kolhapur to the sound of drums.  Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated this railway online while Minister of State for Railways V Somanna flagged off the green flag present at Kolhapur railway station.
A few minutes after the train started, the IRCTC staff provided a bottle of water and snacks.  In this breakfast food items such as real juice from a well-known company like Dabur India Limited, Chivda from a well-known brand Haldiram, Biscuits from Little Chocopay, Kachori, Gulabjam, Vada, Ketchup from Kisan Company were served.  Tea and coffee were also provided as per the demand of the passengers.
Online booking for Vande Bharat Express can be done through the website IRCTC.in.  Apart from this you can visit the website of Inquiry Indian Railway Gov In.  Similarly, you can easily book through the NTES mobile app.  At the same time, we can know the location of this Vande Bharat Express along with other trains through the mobile app Where is My Train.  Express will depart from Kolhapur every Monday, Thursday and Saturday at 8:15 AM.  From Pune, it will leave for Kolhapur at 7:40 PM on three days, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
Vande Bharat Express has two sections namely Chair Car Coach and Executive Coach.  The fare for Kolhapur to Pune is usually Rs 1160 for chair car coach and Rs 2005 for executive coach.  This fare also includes food, tea and breakfast.  The employees of IRCTC i.e. Indian Railway Catering Tourism Corporation Company are currently serving food to the passengers.  This meal consists of three chapatis and two paneer vegetables, mix veg, Mysore pak in goda, rice, dal, salad, pickles.  After the meal, the passengers were provided with buttermilk of Amul Company.
