The pomodoro app on the screen is a recording of an app I made to stay productive and organized with ADHD. You can download it in any app store or at https://floatnote.com/download.

🎙️ About Me
—-
I’m an app developer with a long history in hospitality (bars, restaurants, nightclubs, beach bars). At the age of 29 I decided I wanted more out of life than my job as a manager in some restaurant and weekly (sometimes daily) drunk bouts that you think is normal when you work in hospitality. I got into personal development, read all the books, watched all the videos and discovered I have a talent for programming. I did this by going back to when I was a child and think about what I loved as a kid, as a teenager and as a young adult. Everything I ever loved had to do with creativity. In my teenage years I spent a lot of time working with photoshop and making websites. In my search for passion I thus decided to try a Java course and immediately fell in love with it. I went from wanting to drink and party every other day to staying home wanting to know more about how to create christmas trees with asterics (blew my mind) and creating entire digital worlds with the concept of object oriented programming. You have no idea what a relief it was to finally have some kind of outlet for my creativity that had been suppressed all those years in the hospitality industry.

Fast forward I went back to school at 29, got all the points I needed for a diploma, was top of my class in most cases and then I failed the last big project. I created a full backend and front-end with extensive documentation, did my own project management and somehow I still failed. I always wonder whether they understood or believed I created everything that I created. The first question I got in my final hearing was “Did you really make this yourself?”. Anyway, I failed that and then I had two options. Spent another 300 hours on a retake or spent those 300 hours on building my own “business” as an app developer. I did not go for the first option because it simply did not make sense to me. I was already working 12 to 16 hours a day on developing my skills and business, every day, ever since I got into that Java course. I knew I was going to be okay with that decision.

Another fast forward I got a couple first clients, but then I fell into a slump and couldn't find any new ones. Decided to freelance and moved to a different city where I was offered a freelance job as a lead developer. Initially for 6 months, but I stayed for two years. One of the best times of my life. At the end of 2023 my contract ended and it was time for me to focus on my life and business. I'm currently working a lot on one of my own apps called Float Note. An ADHD power tool to help me stay organized and productive. I decided to start this channel to document my journey to freedom. I'm almost there, but not quite there yet. I am still very dependent on my freelance clients to survive. I am grateful to have them, don't get me wrong. But the dream is to work and live 100% of my own ventures.

On this channel I create daily vlogs, work with me videos where I post recording of me working in different places (I don't do well in office spaces), reviews of workspots I visit, developer/ appreneur related content and my life as a ‘digital nomad’ traveling everywhere from AirBNB’s to hotels and reviewing them in terms of ‘digital nomad comfortness’. I hope you enjoy the content that I bring out. Anything is possible at any age, as long as you’re willing to work for it. If you have any questions about me, stuff that I post or anything else feel free to contact me through any of my socials (@ultrawideturbolife) or send me an email through [email protected]. Thanks for reading this far and your interest in my little life story 🤙.
