Between pople requesting more Splatoon 3 and the first post-Switch 2 Splatfest coming out next month, I figured that now’s the tim to put up another Splatoon 3 video. This is, of course, recorded with the Switch 1, as it came from the second weekend of April 2025. Please let me know if you think I’ve improved—I have been slowly but gradually recovering from my health conditions, and while I haven’t fully recovered yet, and I doubt I ever will, I hpe that I’ve recovered enough to play this game in a satisfactory manner. It was about two months since the previous Splatoon 3 video, and it would be able two months until the following one involving updating to version 10.0.0. (As a result, this is the previous version, so no Barazushi or Emberz kits yet, and no Urchin Underpass.)

I chose Team Afternoon because I am, well, most naturally active in the afternoon. I prefer to sleep in during the morning, and I get tired at night and run out of energy leaving the afternoon, when it’s still bright out and there’s a lot of other activity going on, when I’m most inclined to do things. I figure that with Frye representing it, it would also be the smallest team, but that generally isn’t a factor when I make my selections for Splatfests.

I chose the Aerospray MG to ease myself back into this game, due to it being one of the easier-to-use weapons other than the Splattershot Jr. It seems this time, I didn’t do too bad, and it was the beginning of the regaining of my confidence. I have actually yet to play a game like Mario Kart World though, except as part of that Best Buy event the previous weekend.

At the very least, I’m not constantly falling off anymore. I still worry if I’m goig to deteriorate later on though. The Aerosprays were never meant to be aggressive weapons though. They’re just designed simply to win Turf War matches (the RG moreso than the MG, but I chose the MG because I’m more used to the Ultra Stamp than the Booyah Bomb).

I decided to segue to the Painbrush, a more aggressive weapon. Note that, again, the 10.0.0 update was not out yet when this video came out, so it’s not the new Painbrush from Emberz, but the original Painbrush. I very much appreciate the Curling Bombs and the Wave Breaker though. And hey, I tried. I don't think it was my fault this time.

13:18 - Halftime! No surprise there that Team Night was ahead. The demographic for this game runs younger than me, and I'm of that age group where going to bed earlier sounds increasingly alluring. Of course, I have never been one for night life either.

This was an all-Afternoon match, though I think it was not actually played in the afternoon. Considering Team Night outnumbered both Team Morning and Team Afternoon by quite the margin looking at the matches I played, I found this pretty unusual. It seems towards the end of the match, we had one person on the Defenders team come over to our spawn point, which is not helpful to them in a Tricolor Battle when there's still an Ultra Signal down below.

It seems again, the Defenders weren't too concerned about the Ultra Signal, though they started ignoring it more or less immediately, and they decided to start spawn-camping us. That...might be a valid strategy for Tricolor if it was a single path to the Ultra Signal, but that is not the case in Robo ROM-en. The fact that O.J. and FabPhoenix had little concern for defending the Ultra Signal must have been frustrating for the teammates who were, and I think that cost them the match.

21:41 - Results! I wasn't surprised by the results at all. Having seen the prompt for July 2025's Splatfest, I think I can predict that one too.

This is about the limits of what I have available. I'll have to wait until a new capture device comes in, but hopefully, I can use a substitute in the meantime. There was some testing done last night, but I have no guarantee it'll finish in time. So don't feel bad if there are no videos for this coming week; it's because I have nothing to show.
