The Moravian Historical Society will be exploring an 18th century sewing kit known as a housewife. Presented and made by Sister Sarah, the housewife (also known as a Hussif) would contain all of your sewing needs including scissors, needles, and even beeswax. While most housewifes were made with three sections, there have been others made with more.
