The first of a massive, hopefully, 8 part Hanoi food series.

Started off right in the city center for a classic, bun oc. A snail noodle that is something I could eat every single day. These ladies have been doing this for over 14 years and are one of the hottest places to eat bun oc in Hanoi. A must eat bowl when in the city.

Next up, pho. But not the pho you are thinking of. This time for a stir fried version. This dish is loaded with an assortment of wok hay aroma and flavor. Something that instantly gets your hunger going. This reminded me of beef hor fun from Hong Kong, but I must say I prefer this as it has its Vietnamese twist.

Of course you can’t beat the heat without some che. This lady has been selling it for over 10 years and I must say, you better come earlier than later.

Lastly, for something completely different. A banh mi, but a banh mi I am pretty sure has not been seen by many. This time stuffed with everything fried you can think of, corn, fermented sausage, hot dog, and more. Loaded with sauce and slaw, I must say, I am a huge fan of this banh mi. I know it isn’t for everybody, but it is definitely for me.
