Sonoma County is a beautiful place with diverse habitats and wildlife. It's also home to some of my favorite creatures on the planet. We found plenty of salamanders on this including Speckled Black Salamanders, California Slender Salamanders, Oregon Ensatinas and more.

As we hike through the redwoods and oak savannas, we'll be looking for any signs of these elusive creatures and sharing tips on how to find them. From checking under logs and rocks, we'll do everything we can to get a glimpse of these fascinating animals in their natural habitat.

So come along with us as we embark on this winter herping adventure in wine country and discover some of the most amazing amphibians and lizards that nature has to offer!

Pacific Newts (Taricha)
California Slender Salamander (Batrachoseps attenuatus)
Oregon Ensatina (Ensatina eschscholtzii oregonensis)
Sierran Tree Frog (Pseudacris sierra)
Western Fence Lizard (Sceloporus occidentalis)
Western Toad (Anaxyrus boreas)
