The Earth of the late 20th century is threatened by social turmoil caused by overpopulation and food shortages. Spacefleet expeditions to Venus are mysteriously destroyed but Colonel Dan Dare comes up with a daring plan to reach the planet, can he and his companions Digby, Hank, Pierre, Sir Hubert and Professor Peabody defy certian death and succeed ?
