In anticipation of the June 6, 2014, unveiling of the restored 1966 Admiral totem pole at our "Birthplace of Seattle" Log House Museum, we present this video of Diane Morgan, who was the wife of Michael Morgan, one of the pole's two carvers.

Diane recounts the process of making sure the pole matched the design of the original that it was its model. The original, installed in 1939, had deteriorated to the point where a replacement was needed in 1966.

We at the Southwest Seattle Historical Society are eagerly awaiting the unveiling of the 1966 pole. It will take place before a huge crowd outside our museum, in a ceremony from 10:30 to 11 a.m. on Friday, June 6, 2014. Please join us!
