There are several stretches of water on the Housy that can best be defined a flats. 5 to 14 foot (depending on tide) flat that extends across a broad section of the rive with a somewhat deeper channel adjacent to one bank. There are times -- especially in the spring -- when those flats are alive with fish. This is one of those times. At this point, I was fishing smaller, unweighted soft plastics (5¾" Lunker City Fin-S Fish) in spinning gear with 10# braid and a 10# fluoro leader, skittering them across the surface and stopping to let them sink a few inches on occasion. Later in the day, I made a pass with bigger lures and heavier gear, and mixed in some jerkbait action as well. Fun day on the water. #lunkercty, #Fin-S Fish, #stripers
