Leader of the Opposition in Assam MrDebabrataSaikia suspects that a conspiracy by the BJP lies behind the publication of a truncated draft NRC on December 31 midnight. In an interview with a local TV channel, MrSaikia said that having failed to ensure delay in the NRC process because of the judiciary, the National Register of Citizens (NRC) authorities have created scope for suspicion by including only1.9 crore names in the first draft instead of 2.38 crore names as directed by the Hon'ble Supreme Court.
