To no surprise the Cisco UCS C240 M3 supports video cards. In this video I test the viability of installing a XFX AMD Radeon RX 580 4GB video card. Unfortunately the process had its challenges. Mostly the fact the server's post sequence is odd, the lack of a easily usable management controller, and the odd memory issues. The NVIDIA Grid K1, Grid K2, Tesla K20, Tesla K20X, and Tesla K40 are some of the cards listed as officially supported.

Slot 5 should be able to facilitate taller video cards as long as they aren't bigger than the XFX RX-580P4L V1.0 video card. Cooling considerations will have to be taken though. Ideally a blower style card or a card that supports front to back air flow would be used.

This server has fantastic upgradbility at a great price. I personally would avoid these and go for a Dell Poweredge R720 or R720xd for simpler setup/management. If you are willing to deal with some headache I am reasonably confident they are reliable once properly configured. This is probably my last video with this server since it has been getting on my nerves though. ;P
