HISTORIA MILITUM NEW CHANNEL / @historia.militum
His video explaing the situation: • I LOST my channel of 340k subs- Historia M...
So I was perusing YouTube a couple of days ago, when I noticed what looked like a new Historia . Now we all know this channel, I know for a fact that a large portion of my audience watches this channel. But there was something... wrong. To the best of my knowledge, Historia Militum had a somewhat commendably sized audience, and this channel only had just over 1,000 subs. Fake channel, I immediately thought. Then I did some digging, and, it's pretty bad. Basically, Historia Militum got hacked, and his channel, with over 300,000 subscribers, is gone.
As many of you know, Historia Militum creates some of the most meticulously researched and engaging historical content on YouTube. Phillip has built an incredible community over years, and to see it vanish overnight like this is just heartbreaking.
From what Phillip has shared in a video on his new channel, the hack was incredibly sophisticated. It wasn't just a simple password breach. The hackers managed to bypass all of his security measures, including two-factor verification, by stealing what's called 'session tokens.' For those unfamiliar, a session token basically tells a website, 'Hey, this person is already logged in and authenticated.' If a hacker gets that token, they don't need your password or your 2FA code; they just pretend to be you.
Once they had control of the channel, they immediately started streaming those awful Bitcoin scam videos. You know the ones – with AI Elon Musk or some other prominent endorsing a fake cryptocurrency giveaway. This is a common tactic by these hackers: hijack a popular channel, leverage its audience, push a scam, and then often delete or privatize all the legitimate content. And that’s exactly what happened to Historia Militum.
Phillip immediately opened a case with Google, hoping to recover his channel. He waited for weeks, trying to get some resolution. And just 11 days ago, he received the devastating news that Google has informed him there is nothing they can do. His main channel, with all those years of work and over 300,000 loyal subscribers, is officially gone.
So, I just wanted to make this video, just as a show of support to Phillip, but also to send some of my audience, who again, I know are the same audience as Historia Militum, over to his new channel. SO head on over, give him a subscribe and I hope his channel regains lost ground. I'll put a link to Historia Militum 2.0 and his latest video in the description below. Let's help get this amazing channel back on its feet.
