Описание к видео Are They Trying to Kill Us?

The disaster just keeps getting worse. Over the years people have said the white house is lucky there really has not been a disaster and now we have the domino effect of the coronavirus….disaster after disaster after disaster. On top of that we’ve got a white house that hired people because of their connections and not their knowledge so there are people working that don’t have deep knowledge of their jobs and there are too many jobs that are vacant. Period.

As covid-19 spreads and we hear that a cure is more than a year away. So why make it worse? Covid19 is a respiratory illness so it just makes sense that pollution makes it worse. In fact even a tiny, single-unit increase in particle pollution levels in the years before the pandemic is associated with a 15% increase in the death rate. Remember US Environmental Protection Agency suspended its enforcement of environmental laws on 26 March. Why would the white house suspend these laws now?

A study, by researchers at the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health suggests people in polluted areas are far more likely to die from the coronavirus than those living in cleaner areas. Dirty air increase the risk of acute respiratory distress syndrome. It is extremely deadly and a cause of Covid-19-related deaths, as well as other respiratory and heart problems. That may help explain the high levels of death in black and hispanic communities which tend to be targets of polluters and the government lets it happen. Scientists say ensuring cleaner air in the future will help reduce Covid-19 deaths….so why relax the pollution standards now?

One harvard scientist says “…It is likely that Covid-19 will be a part of our lives for quite a long time, despite our hope for a vaccine or treatment. In light of this, we should consider additional measures to protect ourselves from pollution exposure to reduce the Covid-19 death toll.”

Northern Italy was one of Europe’s most polluted areas and the death rate reported up to 21 March in the northern Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna regions was about 12%, compared with 4.5% in the rest of Italy.

And then there’s the food. The Guardian is reporting that millions of dollars worth of food is going to waste from California to Florida due to a massive surplus of highly perishable items.

I know, the food banks are handling a record number of people but still about half the food grown in the US was previously destined for restaurants, schools, stadiums, theme parks and cruise ships.

Agriculture officials says its not the supply, it’s matching that supply with demand and getting it to where it’s needed most.

In South Florida…a major producer of vegetables for US consumers, , the cost to pick and pack that produce is higher than the market price.

Strawberries on the California coast and lettuce in the Salinas Valley “salad bowl” where roughly 70% of the nation’s lettuce crop is grown– have been hit particularly hard. And efforts to keep farmworkers safe and socially distanced in the fields mean even slower harvesting.

Florida growers have asked the US Department of Agriculture to buy the surplus produce so it could be donated to people in need without further hurting farm finances. The California department of food and agriculture is partnering with the California Association of Food Banks to provide funding and resources for farm donations to feeding programs across the state.

And finally there’s global warming and the weather. Authorities are worried that covid-19 may make people suffering in severe weather, reluctant to go to shelters for fear of not being able to social distance.

This weekend there are threats of tornadoes, damaging winds and flooding rain. April is a notoriously volatile month for severe thunderstorms and tornadoes in the United States. You’ve got increasingly warm and humid air in an already much-warmer-than-average Gulf of Mexico. You’ve got the possibility of tornadoes that could be strong and have long tracks.

Severe thunderstorms should become more numerous Saturday night in Texas and possibly parts of Louisiana. Thunderstorms with heavy rain may also spread into other parts of the Deep South including Mississippi, Alabama, perhaps Georgia Saturday night. For Easter Sunday Possible widespread severe thunderstorms sweeping across the Deep South from the lower Mississippi Valley earlier in the day to parts of Georgia, North Florida and the Carolinas Sunday evening or night. Also bands of heavy rain are expected across much of the South through Monday morning and this could trigger flash flooding.

Disaster after disaster and we don’t have the leadership at so many levels in government to cope, plan and strategize. Vote, if we make it to November. Sometimes it makes me feel like our death is really not a problem for the leadership[ of this country.
