An arrest report details the allegations against a Henderson band teacher accused of an inappropriate sexual relationship with a student.

Clark County School District Police announced that Cole Horton, 30, was arrested Thursday, Sept. 4, after working as a band instructor at Basic Academy since 2019.

According to the arrest report, CCSD police received an anonymous tip in August alleging Horton was in a relationship with the student.

A detective interviewed the student, who said they had started a consensual, romantic relationship just before graduation.

Detectives reviewed the student's phone and found nearly 20,000 text messages exchanged with Horton, which became "flirtatious/sexual/intimate conversations" around April 1, the report states.

The messages also suggested they engaged in a sexual act before the school year ended, police alleged.
