Tutorial: Folded brim for Petite Knit Oslo hat using Provisional Cast On - Mostly Knitting Podcast

Описание к видео Tutorial: Folded brim for Petite Knit Oslo hat using Provisional Cast On - Mostly Knitting Podcast

I show how to unpick a provisional cast on and place on the needles and knit together with the current live stitches to create a folded brim.

The Oslo hat pattern does not suggest using a provisional cast on. It can be difficult, however, to pick up the cast on stitches in correct alignment for the folded brim and this cast on solves that problem.

I also show what to do when you get to the "turn" part of the pattern.

I am using 3.25mm needles with 112 sts with fingering weight and mohair yarn to fit an average adult head circumference of 22".

I am using Opal KFS sock yarn and Rowan Kidsilk Haze in Nectar.

I use a long circular needle when unpicking the provisional cast on but it may be easier to just use another 16" circular needle if you have. You can use a size or two smaller than the knitting needle you are using as you dont actually knit onto this needle.
