Sgt. Stubby: An American Hero is a war movie that tells the true story of a stray dog who joined the army in the First World War.

The movie tells the story of Robert Conroy, a young soldier whose life changes when he finds a dog with a short tail named Stubby in an army camp.

Stubby and Conroy, along with French Infantryman Gaston Baptiste, performed various heroic acts on the battlefield, such as preventing the Germans from taking Paris, warning soldiers and villagers of gas attacks, capturing spies, and rescuing wounded soldiers.

For his valiant actions, Stubby became the first dog to be promoted to the rank of Sergeant in the United States Army.
