The Japanese toolbox is a brilliant engineered design that is complexly simple. While there are many variations on the Japanese toolbox build, this live edge wood box elevates the Japanese toolbox into a clean modern styling. This is one of those cool scrap wood projects, built for the Build At Home Challenge, that can be done with any number of offcuts with really fun embellishments for any level of woodworker. The Japanese tool box wood that was used in this build was live edge rosewood, mahogany, and maple, with white oak dowels. This a small scrap wood project that is extremely approachable and epitomizes Japanese carpentry without nails. This build was inspired by the mini Japanese toolbox from Bike City Woodworks. While this video isn't like most of the videos on my channel in that it has no voiceover, it's a visual documentary on how to make a Japanese toolbox, a Japanese tool box build. This is more than just an average wooden tool box. This can be a lovely ornament for any home, and can be so much more than a device to transport planes and chisels.
