Midges are a staple of a trout’s diet in the cold winter months. Your fly boxes should represent this being stocked with midges in various sizes, colors, patterns, and weights. This one is called the disco midge. It can be tied in very small sizes, flow freely in the water being unweighted, and reflect light to attract attention. I like to add this one behind a heavy more natural looking dropper.
