This recipe is really very special for me. ' Shobha Aatya' ( my Aunty Mrs. Anjali Ashok Kulkarni) ) used to prepare it for all of us. I can still recollect the aroma and taste of Masala Bhat prepared by her, it used to be so tasty. I am sharing her recipe with you, which is easy to make. Akola in Vidharbha is my birthplace. In that region, this dish is prepared at almost every wedding function. It is spicy yet balanced in flavors. The color has to be yellowish green.
The best part is, this is a perfect recipe as a one-dish meal. You can serve it with dahi (curd), koshimbir (kind of Maharashtrian salad ), pickle, or kadhi. The important ingredient used is Goda Masala.
I am sharing the Maharashtrian style goda masala recipe which I prepare at home.

Goda masala Recipe

Coriander seeds - 250 GM's
Cumin seeds - 50 GM's
Black pepper whole - 10 gm
Methi seeds - 10gm
Cloves - 10 gm
Seasme seeds - 50 GM's
Dagad phool- 20 gm
Bay leaf - 5 GM's
Black cardamom - 10 GM's
Dry Coconut- 50 GM's
Cinnamon i- 10 GM's
Dry red chillies( optional)- 15 GM's
Star anis - 2 GM's
Shahajeera- 5 GM's

Roast in little oil, all ingredients separately. Mix together and grind.
