Days of the Dead Indianapolis 2024 - A Short Walkthrough

This past weekend, I took a trip to the annual Days of the Dead in Indianapolis at the Marriott East. Although there were many great guests, I had to sit out of autographing or really getting any kind of merch. Was just there to be there more or less. It was an excellent turnout for the convention I think, though it did die down some towards the middle of the day. Guests included the likes of Brad and Fiona Dourif, Jon Lovitz, Michael Ironside and The Grimm Life Collective just to name a few. There were a few reunions including Revenge of the Nerds, Friday the 13th Part 3 and Scanners. As you can see in the video there were a good amount of vendors ranging from movies to apparel to collectibles and beyond. There was also a film fest which showed many fantastic new independent horror films including one I’m excited for, New Fears Eve.

I, myself had a pretty cool experience where Brad Dourif and I walked into the restroom at the same time. I went to wash my hands as he was, I tried getting the automatic soap dispensers to work and of course they were unpredictable. I went “These things are the worst” and to my surprise he goes “They’re just trying to surprise you.” So that was pretty cool.

Before going to the con, I stopped by Black House Cafe in Fountain Square as you’ll see at the beginning of the video, it is a horror themed coffee shop filled with some really cool decor. It’s also partially an Air BnB.

Overall it was a great short time being there and filling my convention gap before Horrorhound in September! Thanks again to the folks at Days of the Dead for giving me a press badge. See you guys on the next one.
