Shogun: General Toda Hiromatsu (Tour Abe), at the appointed hour, delivers Lord Yoshi Toranaga’s resignation from The Council Of Regents. The Council Of Regents was enacted by the late Taiko. The General delivers the message in Osaka Castle, which is governed by Lord Ishido Kazunari (Nobuo Kaneko). Hiromatsu’s composure is strong and excellent, and Ishido’s look of disgust is priceless. Excellent directing, sets, costumes, music, and acting. A powerful exchange.

There is a new Shogun coming out on the FX Channel in February 2024, but honestly, I do not see how any version of Shogun can top this amazing production of excellent cinematography. If you haven’t seen Shogun (Directed by Jerry London), you ought to watch it and enjoy the beauty and quality of this masterpiece.
