In chapter 69 of dragon ball super, Beerus tells vegeta he was the one who suggested freiza destroy the saiyans. In a fit of rage Vegeta attacks beerus but ultimately loses. Beerus explains to vegeta that he is trapped by the past and he needs to recreate himself from scratch to learn the Hakai.
