Niviuk Klimber 2 p First Impression

Описание к видео Niviuk Klimber 2 p First Impression

I am lucky enough to receive the new Niviuk Klimber 2 P and took her out to the training hill Santa Barbara California. Shortly after this video o was lucky to climb up to 1,500 feet and play with bar and spin. I'm so excited about this wing.

Since taking her out of the bag I have had a bunch of fun training flights with it and can't wait to take her for out to do some hike and fly races this summer!

Some words I have at this point:

"Niviuk Klimber 2 P... I’m in love.

The first thing I notice is how extremely light this wing is. Carrying it is a complete joy making hike and fly and vol biv easier than ever. At first I scoffed at the color coded risers but hooking up in windy conditions it is quite useful.
The inflation is easy with no tendency to cravatte, and less overshoot than most D wings. It rises up to sit over head, with beautiful control on the Bs during inflation in high winds, its easy to prevent the tips from overshooting.
The brakes are direct and sensitive, this thing thermals so well, all of the information from the Klimber 2 at 6.9 is usable and not too much. Allowing the wing to move overhead results in finding the best lift in light and strong conditions while still being stiff enough to promote absolute confidence. I have fallen in love with the feel of the brakes, as it carves the turns, grabbing the lift like a claw climbing you higher.
The spin point is intuitive and slow motion as you pull down, making slow flight and top landings easy, but maybe even better is how fast it snaps back to trim speed! So flapping, downwind, fly on the wall and uphill landings are great with absolutely amazing energy retention.
Approaching the landing with some bar and releasing to flare produces a great climb and easy to stop. A slightly faster trim speed than others but with these slow flight characteristics means there is a massive speed range and feels as though this wing likely out performs any of the others in this class.
The pressure on the B risers during flight is light and direct meaning you can stay on speed longer with more control and feel of the air. How the rigging was designed on the Bs allows for tight turns while on bar making thermal entries and difficult landings more intuitive and easier to finesse. I want to live on speed bar with this wing.
It might be called a Klimber but this is a completely new design and blows the original out of the water.
As a season of hike and fly racing and vol biv trips approach, I couldn’t be happier to be flying the Niviuk Klimber 2P in all the conditions I encounter."
