I didn't go outside for 2 months...and it only gets worse from there. Buckle up because this is a heavy one.

I haven't posted a video in awhile, and that's because I wasn't doing well. I've always struggled with depression, and I've been working through my grief for the last few years But my grief is and compounding. I keep experiencing another death before I've worked through the first one. And now it's happened again.

I'm not okay, and I'm choosing to be okay that. What does that look like for me? Well I haven't had a panic attack since the middle of June even though I've experienced a lot of anxiety since then. I upped my therapy visits and am contacting my therapist more now than ever before. I was prescribed a non-narcotic sleeping medication to help me fall asleep (I'm scared to go to the pharmacy, but I'm going to try to go tomorrow!). I can go outside more often now. We went to my mom's house to shoot off fireworks last night
We have seen each other (and only each other) during this whole thing for Emerson's sake. And, lastly, I'm talking about my mess.

Talking about my mess allows me to connect with any of you that might be struggling too. Whoever you are, I hope this video helps you feel less alone. Talking about my mess also helps move me from abstract thoughts & emotions about something to a more concrete & defined feelings. Defining them allows me to take the power back, and, often times, verbalizing what I'm thinking allows me to recognize when it is irrational.

So if you're not okay, that's okay. It's okay to not be okay sometimes. And I am encouraging you to accept that you're not okay.
