Punjab a North Indian states offers very reputable and oldest Medical colleges options. The resident of Punjab has to fulfill a criteria of Domicile for which they would be given scope of admission for Medical science both for Government Medical Colleges and the Government Seats in Private Medical Colleges for 50%. Those of non-residents of Punjab studied there for 5 years till class 12th will be given institutional quota benefits.

Those of non-residents of Punjab studied there only for 2 years 11th & 12th will be given the institutional quota benefits.

Parents living outside Punjab who were posted for 2,3 years, pensioners, central Government job holders or on deputation in Punjab or in Chandigarh are eligible for domicile of Punjab.
