NOTES FROM NEAL MORSE
Several years ago I felt to come to Europe to have some church services. A friend who was helping me asked if I would mind if a percussionist joined me. I was skeptical at first but my friend talked me into it. This, of course, was Collin. So, we began playing together at these acoustic gatherings around Holland and Germany and one day he said "you know, we could do a full band thing, I could put a band together and we could rehearse before you come over and we could do some prog gigs if you want." It seemed very unlikely to me that a bunch of unknown guys could play this kind of music convincingly. And I had only heard Collin play his box thing... (whatever it's called). But later, as I prayed about it, I felt very strongly that we should do it! It was a bit frightening... especially the first time. I had booked gigs without us even really playing together! But, as you have now seen or are about to see, these people are INCREDIBLE! Each one so unique and gifted... and they really worked hard to make sure everything was right. I'm grateful for them.

Paul came in a bit later. I had been in Barcelona and a friend there was telling me about this amazing guitarist from The Carl Palmer Band. I took note in my mind but that was about it. Then, out of the blue, I got an email a few months later from Paul saying he played guitar with Carl and that he was a big fan of my work and if lever needed a guitarist... so, when this Zoetemeer thing was on the table and Elisa couldn't make it I thought of Paul, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Many thanks to all the people who worked really hard on this DVD. A special thank you from me to Collin and also to John Vis who made the Bonus disc. Many blessings to you all,
Neal Morse

NOTES FROM COLLIN:
Although progressive rock is my main thing, l've done many bands and projects in all kinds of musical flavors. I play with my own bands Dilemma and Affector and do a lot of session work. I also run a music school: Novae Popschool.

As Neal's bandleader, it was my job to oversee the process of rehearsing, and making sure everybody did their parts as close to what is presented on the CD. So when Neal would come in, all was in place, set and ready to go. But without proper rehearsals, that seemed impossible!
Everybody studied at home, and two weeks before the first gig Paul came over to my studio for a two-day rehearsal. Just a few days before the first gig everybody came together for a day and a half of full band rehearsals, and it all fell together beautifully.

The DVD you are holding in your hands right now is very special for me, because I can now share the hard work we put into the performance, and all the fun we had, with all of you who could not be with us. It's a tough job having to fill in the shoes of some of the amazing musicians that grace Neal's CD's. But I think the band rose to the occasion! hope you will enjoy watching this as much as I do, and I hope to see you on tour sometime.
Collin Leijenaar
