Take a virtual tour through our Engineering Education and Research Center. The 430,000-square-foot facility opened its doors in fall 2017, providing the Texas Engineering community with a world-class hub for multidisciplinary innovation.

The EER inspires creativity and collaboration and features research labs, student study spaces, a library, a café and a dedicated wing for engineering student and career services. Among the facility’s signature multidisciplinary spaces are:

National Instruments Student Project Center
The centerpiece of the building, offering students 23,000 square feet of makerspaces for designing and building everything from solar cars and satellites to robots and biomedical sensors.

James J. and Miriam B. Mulva Conference Center and Auditorium
The spacious conference rooms will provide a gathering place for faculty, students and other guests, and the stunning 299-seat auditorium will host visiting lecturers, seminars and workshops.

Texas Instruments Laboratories
State-of-the-art spaces where electrical and computer engineering undergraduate students utilize the latest technologies to develop sensors, wearable technologies and more.

Texas Innovation Center
The Cockrell School’s dedicated space for entrepreneurship training, new venture development and commercialization programming for faculty and student researchers across the Forty Acres. The Texas Innovation Center also has approximately 900 square feet of wet lab space at UT’s J.J. Pickle Research Campus.

Anwar Family Learning Center
Hub for tutoring and studying and home of the McKinney Engineering Library, one of the top academic engineering libraries in the nation with a collection of over 165,000 volumes.
