The Mount Saint Helens National Volcanic Monument is notorious for decaying trails and badly maintained roads. So on this edition, I find myself practically falling down the mountain as I navigate my way toward the scenic overlook at the Johnston Observatory. I'm not sure risking death is worth it, but the views of the volcano's crater certainly are breathtaking.
