His first experience with computers was VAX-11 superminicomputer in college, 30 years ago. He spent many hours in college to learn how to program, and also many hours to play computer games. He has written two books (in Chinese) related to computer games. Outside his daily work, he enjoys different outdoor activities including hiking, climbing, skiing and cycling. He also enjoys growing together with his two children, which is the main reason he works with EmP group in the past decade.

The workshop host will talk about a game tool he participated in developing nearly 30 years ago. GameBuster can help gamers to find/lock health/magic points, money, increase/decrease game speed, save/load games when needed, record key combinations and do much more. In the workshop, you will get to know how computers look and how programming works in old times. We will talk about some very old technology which cannot be used now but it is still interesting to hear and the ideas may still be useful in current age. The topics include DOS/Windows operating system, single/multi thread, terminate and stay residence (TSR), computer clock frequency, memory management, assembly programming and more.
