Here we have a highly sought-after pre-CBS Fender Jazzmaster from 1964.

This Jazzmaster underwent an early refinish to an Olympic White finish. A photo of the previous owner shows that this guitar already had this white finish in the early 1970s. During the refinishing process, the original sunburst was sprayed over, so the original sunburst can still be found under the white finish. Traces of this are still visible in the cavity, checking and neck pocket.

The neck, with a Rosewood fingerboard and clay dots, dates from June 4, 1964 and has a b-profile. Parts of the neck and headstock have also received a clear overspray. The headstock features the original single-line Kluson tuners.

The original Pat # Tremolo bridge works great and the tremolo arm is also in good condition. The only thing missing is the bridge cover. The tortoise pickguard is also original and shows no cracks. The original shielding plate is also present. The bridge is not original.

The cloth wiring and grey bottoms are correct and can be dated to October 9, 1964, thanks to the yellow stamp. The original masking tape is still intact and the potentiometers also date from 1964.

The Jazzmaster has been fully set-up and checked by our luthier and comes with a modern case.
