I hope the you enjoy my interpretation of how I'm still able to interact with surfing.

I struggled the first time I saw the beach after my accident. I was at Manny's Pizzeria in nsb for a family dinner. I excused myself and went across A1A by myself to say hello to the beach I grew up playing on. I remember seeing young children playing in the shore break and just sobbing. I knew in that moment I was never going to feel that again and it broke me.

I spent a long time avoiding the beach after that, but after finding photography, it was the closest I felt to being back in the lineup again. I strongly encourage you to find your creative passion and use it to express yourself in a way only you know how.

Here's what I said on the evening of the film's premiere at Red Dog Surf Shop here in New Smyrna Beach, FL...

"There are a few individuals here that helped me create my first film back in 2018 and here we are five years later. I want to thank Hollie and everyone at red dog for putting this event together. Thanks to all of you for being here on your Saturday night.
On the surface, this may seem like the piece lacks narrative and to some degree that is true. However, I think so often we perceive every day life as “the grind“ when really all of those little moments, we experience every day, add up to create our narrative. We are lucky enough that our narrative at this given time has us living in an incredible town with some pretty consistent waves and some really talented individuals. I wanted to create something that captured the beauty of this town in this given moment, so, in the future, we can look back and cherish the good old days.

Thank you all for being here tonight, thank you for supporting your local surf shop & your local surfers, and my interpretation of all of it."
