Beautiful Elastic Yoke Baby Frock Cutting and Stitching | DIY Very Easy Baby Frock For Beginners

“Welcome to [ Savita DIY ]! Today, I’ll show you how to make a beautiful elastic yoke baby frock. It’s super easy and perfect for beginners. Let’s dive in!”

[Materials Needed]

• 1 meter cotton fabric
• Elastic thread
• Regular thread
• Scissors
• Measuring tape
• Pins
• Sewing machine

[Step 1: Measuring and Cutting Fabric]
“First, measure the baby’s chest, waist, and desired frock length. Fold the fabric in half and mark the chest measurement plus 2 inches for seam allowance. Mark the length from the top edge and cut out a rectangular piece.”

[Step 2: Creating the Yoke]
“Cut a 4-inch wide strip for the yoke, long enough to fit around the chest. Hem the top edge by folding it twice and sewing it down.”

[Step 3: Sewing the Elastic]
“Hand wind the elastic thread onto the bobbin. Sew rows across the yoke, 1/2 inch apart. The fabric will gather, creating an elastic effect. Continue until the yoke is wide enough.”

[Step 4: Attaching the Yoke to the Body]
“Pin the gathered yoke to the top edge of the body piece, right sides together. Sew them together, evenly distributing the gathers.”

[Step 5: Sewing the Side Seams]
“Fold the frock in half, right sides together. Pin and sew the side seams from the yoke bottom to the hem.”

[Step 6: Hemming the Bottom]
“Fold the bottom edge twice and sew to create a neat hem.”

[Step 7: Finishing Touches]
“Trim any excess threads and press the seams with an iron.”
