When do we use "people" and when do we use "persons"? They are both plural forms of "person", but they are not exactly interchangeable. So what is the difference between them?

In this video we're going to look at when to use “people” and when do we use “persons”.
Both of these are accepted plural forms of “person”.
Most of the time we use “people”.
There were five people in the park.
There are lots of annoying people on Twitter.
It would sound very strange if we said: There were five persons in the park.
“Persons” is basically only used in formal legal contexts. Some common expressions include “persons of interest” and “missing persons”.
Three persons of interest are being interviewed by the police.
“Persons” is also sometimes used on signs.
In an elevator you might see: Maximum 6 persons at a time.
