With the EPA cracking down on locomotives that don't meet modern day emission standards, it leaves Portland and Westerns fleet of former Southern Pacific high hoods on the brink of retirement. Luckily for me, cabcar82productions offered me a ride to see PNWR 1852 and 1801 in Albany and McMinnville.

PNWR 1852 is a SD9 built for the Southern Pacific and has worked for the Willamette and Pacific and the Portland and Western. It still resides in SP colors with Willamette and Pacific lettering still present.

PNWR 1801 is a GP9 built for the Southern Pacific and has worked for the Willamette and Pacific and the Portland and Western. The unit was never delivered to the SP in "black widow", the Willamette and Pacific applied it in a show of respect for the SP.

Thanks for Watching!
