Did you know that Lord Shiva doesn’t just reside in Kedarnath?

High up in the Garhwal Himalayas lie five sacred Shiva temples collectively known as the Panch Kedar — each representing a unique part of Lord Shiva’s divine form.

According to Hindu mythology, after the great war of Mahabharata, the Pandavas sought Lord Shiva to absolve their sins. But Shiva, displeased, disguised himself as a bull and tried to avoid them by hiding in the Himalayas.

When Bhima tried to catch the bull, Shiva disappeared into the earth — but different parts of his body appeared in five different locations. These places became the Panch Kedar temples, where each temple worships a specific body part of Lord Shiva:

🔱 Kedarnath – Worships the hump (back) of Shiva
🔱 Tungnath – Worships Shiva’s arms
🔱 Rudranath – Worships the face of Shiva
🔱 Madhyamaheshwar – Worships Shiva’s navel
🔱 Kalpeshwar – Worships Shiva’s hair (jatta)

Each temple lies amidst stunning Himalayan landscapes and is a symbol of deep devotion, penance, and spiritual strength.
