Both dentists and dental patients developed a keen interest in cast gold restorations, and gold alloy quickly established itself as a suitable material for tooth restoration. The most appealing qualities of gold alloy were its malleability, when cast properly and implanted in a therapeutic setting, and its wear resemblance to tooth structure. Some individuals didn't like the hue of gold alloy, but after a while, some people started to view gold restorations as a prestige signal.
