On the night of May 23, 2025, the film industry lost a versatile and beloved actor, Mukul Dev, at the age of 54 in New Delhi. He had been unwell and admitted to a hospital for over a week. His passing has left a wave of sorrow across the entertainment world.
Mukul began his career in 1996 with the TV show Mumkin and debuted in Bollywood the same year with Dastak alongside Sushmita Sen. Known for his impactful supporting roles in films like Son of Sardaar, Yamla Pagla Deewana, Jai Ho, and R... Rajkumar, he also acted in multiple regional language films.
A trained pilot, Mukul hosted the first season of Fear Factor India and lent his voice to many international films' Hindi dubs. His last film was Ant: The End, and he was also set to appear in Son of Sardaar 2.
His brother, actor Rahul Dev, announced the funeral would be held on May 24 in New Delhi. Reports suggest Mukul was battling loneliness and health issues after the loss of his parents, and he had distanced relationships with his family, including his daughter Siya.
Tributes poured in from stars like Ajay Devgn, Manoj Bajpayee, and Vindu Dara Singh. Mukul’s simplicity, talent, and gentle nature will be remembered always. May his soul rest in peace.
