A good approximation of the simple designer Space Toy sets I'm aiming to create as art experiments. Very lucky score: "New Old Stock" never played with -- the components are still tied to the diorama stage with string. No date on the package, but from another set which has a miniaturized static version of their "Hill Climbing Moon Scout" my guess is 1968/1969 from the 1968 dates on the Space Scouts I've obtained (see my other videos for a look).

Teensy and delicate! it gets its own storage module and is either boxed up in it or safely ogled on the Ogle Shelf. Finding it was a total game changer -- the retrofuturist aura is intoxicating and proved a gateway to my "Operation Moon Base" addiction. Am hooked from a purely artistic standpoint & the only known cure is to try and make my own.

Have been researching as well, and am pretty sure some of the rock formations are recycled from Marx army man sets. Am fascinated by the cratered sections, which like the figures appear to have been hand painted. I've already begun experimenting with making terrain sections to potentially vacuform and am studying Space Tank forms for ideas on how to fabricate one via 3d printer.

Not quite the same as casting but you have to start somewhere and this is actually a pretty simple method to package such ideas in an appealing & cost-effective way. Would like to find a 2nd so I can take the diorama stage apart to see how it was printed with the end result in mind. Reverse-engineer it, and finally get my hands on that Space Tank!!
