Vrat: To observe this fast, one should start the fast on the first Sunday of Shukla Paksha of any month. In this except Chaitra, Paush and Adhik month.

Medicinal baths also provide favorable results in planetary peace. For the peace of the planet Sun, take a bath by mixing cardamom, saffron, blood sandalwood, liquorice and red flowers in the bath water.
If you are not able to do this everyday, then definitely take a medicine bath on that day i.e. on Sunday.
Yantra: If you want to wear Surya Shanti Yantra, then it is prepared on Sunday with special type of ink on Bhoj Patra and it should be worn on Sunday only. The yantra should be worn in a copper amulet.
