AARON BROOKS Stunted Growth Story TOO COLD! What Happened?

Today’s feature is one of those guys for me I always loved watching play, and held as one of my favorite players, even if he wasn’t all everything on the NBA level, or considered one of the best on that level. What I liked most about Aaron Brooks, is although he was never the tallest, he was most certainly the most competitive on most floors he stepped on, even if it was to a fault. His game and his mentality on the court was always beautiful to me, his bow legged, fast moving feet, ability to get anywhere on the floor he wanted to with his shiftiness and ball on a string, elevation on his jumper that stretched far beyond NBA range, and again his competitiveness made him fearless and ideal for taking and making big shots in big moments, like he did against UCLA, who were the #1 team in the country at the time, and against Arizona, both Pac 10 rival teams expected to stomp the Oregon Ducks but left with disappointment. He was all everything in high school, including a McDonald’s all American, Parade all American, Washington’s Mr Basketball and a top 4 point guard in the nation. In college the success followed him, leaving a 4 year starter, Wooden all American first team all conference and left with his degree after 4 years in political science, a competitor on and off the floor. I wouldn’t say the expectations were exactly high for Brooks, drafted 26th overall in the first round by the Houston Rockets in 2007, but he was a great scorer in college and high school, and brought in expected to carry that on into the NBA as well.
