Interim, Inc., founded in 1975, is a non-profit, public benefit corporation. In partnership with Monterey County Behavioral Health (MCBH), Interim provides a continuum of residential treatment, affordable supportive housing and social rehabilitation services for adults with psychiatric disabilities who reside in Monterey County, California.
OUR MISSION
The mission of Interim, Inc. is to provide services and affordable housing, supporting members of our community with mental illness in building productive and satisfying lives.
To fulfill this mission, Interim, Inc. has the following goals:
· To reduce the incidence of, and need for costly inpatient psychiatric hospital care,
· To prevent mentally ill adults from becoming homeless, and to assist those who are homeless to obtain and maintain housing in the community, and
· To help individuals with mental illness establish satisfying, productive lives in the community and achieve wellness and recovery.
To meet these goals, Interim, Inc. assists clients to obtain and maintain secure, safe, affordable housing, master living skills, obtain and maintain employment, establish positive relationships with family, friends, and neighbors, to manage symptoms of their mental illness and to work toward recovery. Interim also assists clients to obtain a stable source of income and needed psychiatric, medical, vocation and educational services. Interim is the primary agency in Monterey County providing this array of services for adults with serious mental illness.
Interim, Inc. provides a bridge from institutionalization or homelessness to independent living. Interim owns or operates 20 facilities with 313 beds of treatment and housing.
