You just got engaged! Have you started growing your hair yet? One of the first reactions of most Omaha Brides is "I'm getting married, I need to grow my hair out!" So let's talk about bridal hair.

The first thing you need to do is be sure you are happy with your current salon and stylist. If not, this is the time to change. If you want to make a change, start by asking your friends, the ones with great hair, where they get their hair done. If you see someone at work or at the mall with great hair, just go up to them and ask who their stylist is. Most women will take this as a huge compliment and gush forth with a name.

Be sure you pick a hair style that looks like you. You do not want to look at your wedding pictures and video ten years from now and say to yourself "What was I thinking, that does not look like me." So pick a hairstyle that you like, that flatters you, but also looks like you. Definitely something fancier than normal you, but still you. You want to have a trial run, maybe the week before your wedding. Be sure it is not too curly or too poufy. Be happy, no, scratch that, be thrilled with the style. If you aren't, change it until you find something that does thrill you. But get it right at the trial run and take a few pictures so both you and your stylist remembers exactly.

In the months leading up to your wedding, plan your haircuts, styles, coloring and all things hair with your stylist. Generally, if you are going to color or highlight, have it done a week or two before the wedding. Letting those first few days of the new color or highlight pass will make your hair look more natural on your wedding day and, if you do want to make a change, there is time.

Now it's your wedding day. Your hair is done. What if you don't like it? Say something and change it. Your stylist wants you to be thrilled with your hair because a happy bride tells all her friends good stories, but an unhappy bride tells the world how upset she is. If you are uncomfortable telling your stylist, let your bridesmaid or your sister or your mom do it for you.

Consider what time you want to get your hair done on the day of your wedding. You probably do not want to get it done too early as the humidity or the wind can really mess things up if you let it. You also do not want to wait until the last minute and be in a big rush to get to pictures or the ceremony. Ask your stylist to give a guess as to how long your hair will take and then stretch that time out a bit in case you want to make a change or two.

Be sure that one of your bridesmaids or personal attendants has a bag with bobby pins and hair spray for touch ups that you will need as your day goes on into evening.

Finally, don't worry about your hair that much. It looks great! And besides, everyone is looking at your dress!!!! Don't stress it. At the end of the day, what matters is you are comfortable, happy and married to the guy you love.
