He stressed that the office of the Vice-President is a high constitutional post and must remain above partisan politics. Referring to recent judicial interventions concerning the functioning of constitutional authorities such as the President and Governors, he added that the Supreme Court’s power of judicial review is not merely a discretion but a duty entrusted to it by the Constitution itself.
