This is one of those times where you have to weigh risk vs reward 😰
(Save this if you want a little adventure when in Milos)

TSIGRADO BEACH is for those who want some risky business during their visit.
Originally a place for miners to output unused yield, this quickly became a little gem of a beach for tourists to enjoy.

It’s super easy to get here, you can just input “Tsigrado Beach” on google maps or take the bus to Fyriplaka (which is 15 minutes away; so score for visiting 2 beaches in one).
Getting down to the beach, on the other hand, is a different story. 😂
When you get to the place, we just assumed was the parking lot (basically a wide open space) - you can actually see a panorama of the beach; which for most tourists is enough to take pictures of. BUT
we know you are a little too adventurous for that…so

THE DESCENT

Wes and I literally missed the “entrance” (a solitary wooden ladder), if not for another couple coming back up to leave, we would probably have missed it 3 more times 😂
You go down the first ladder and it’s not too bad, and get a bit cocky
the struggle, for me personally, was the 2nd part, which is where you hold on to a worn out piece of rope for support. 🥸

The incline is really not bad, but for those that are afraid of heights like me; we tend to make 10-degree inclines a bit dramatic. Oh and add to that - the ground you are stepping on, is SAND, which literally crumbles away from under your feet.
The transition from the rope to the 2nd ladder will have you calling out your inner gymnast - because the steps are a bit further apart and that yoga sesh will definitely come in handy.
Before you know it, you will have SIRI saying “YOU HAVE ARRIVED”! Come early and you will get the beach all to yourself.

Make it a point to visit though because the shoreline is actually getting smaller and smaller because of the water coming in. Our guide showed us a picture of TSIGRADO years ago and it was 4 times the size it is now.

*Note: DO NOT lay out close to the rock facade because there is the risk of falling rocks ☺️
