In this episode, Hae & Bre interview Milisuthando Bongela (Director/Writer) of her autobiographical documentary “MILISUTHANDO” which is set in past & present South Africa. It’s a poetic portrait of the filmmaker explored through her memories growing up inside apartheid but not knowing it was happening until it was over.
We talk about how to take a profound personal experience and turn it into a film. How to interview subjects on an intimate level and sometimes, the best way to do that was an iPhone instead of a large camera & crew.
