Medicating Me: A Documentary About Psychiatric Medication (Official Trailer)

‘Medicating Me’ Is a short documentary about psychiatric medication. It seeks to cut through the mainstream debate of whether it works or not, and delve into the grey between that black and white discussion. Looking at medication as an idea - as a construct. What is the power of medication, beyond the biological?

○ Does the prospect of medicating our minds, change our view of ourselves?

○ How might the idea of medication create an internal conflict, and what does that look like?

○ Are there ideologies surrounding medication, that influence adherence or rejection?

○ Why is it more complicated than taking an aspirin?

○ Where does hope exist in the narrative?


The audience is taken on a deeply human exploration of these questions. Without psychiatrists. Without psychologists. People with various lived experience of mental health services, tell their own stories, alongside imaginative imagery and quirky animations.
