Study medicine in Ukraine at Kharkiv National Medical University

Kharkiv National Medical University is one of the old medical schools in Ukraine. In 1805 it was established as the Medical Faculty of the Kharkiv University. The old names of Kharkiv National Medical University are Kharkiv Medical Institute and Kharkiv State Medical University.

The Degree (MBBS, BDS, MD, MDS, MS, NURSING) of the Kharkiv National Medical University is prestigious and recognized in many countries. Kharkiv National Medical University 1805 – Nowadays

Kharkiv National Medical University is the first higher school for medical education in Ukraine.

KNMU was founded as the Medical Faculty of Kharkiv University.

Medical Faculty was joint to the Women’s Medical Institute in 1920, and named as Kharkiv Medical Academy.

Then the Academy has chainged its name again to Kharkiv Medical Institute in 1921.

The Institute become a foundation to create the Kharkov state Medical University in 1994.

Finally in 2007 Kharkiv state Medical University has changed its name and become the Kharkiv National Medical University.
International students study in Ukraine at KNMU

KNMU has been training foreigners from countries of the Eastern Europe, China, Mongolia since 1951, and international students from Asia, Latin America and Africa have been studying here since 1961. Nowadays, 3700 international students study in Ukraine at Kharkiv National Medical University to get MBBS in Ukraine, Dentistry in Ukraine and the clinical postgraduate course. The alumni counts more than 7,500 specialists from 86 countries of Latin America, Asia, Europe, Africa and Middle East. There is 12 PhDs and 90 Candidates of Medical Sciences, and aproximately 300 postgraduates. Education language for international students is Ukrainian, Russian and English. Kharkiv National Medical University is number one centre for international students who wants to become an expert through studying in Ukraine. Aproximately 8,000 students studying in the University nowadays, 3,700 of them are international students. University staff consist 700 teachers, including 102 Doctors of Sciences and Professors, 387 Candidates of Medical Science, 32 members of academies and 17 Honored Scientists. Number of academic staff involved in teaching international students consist of total – 186 teachers. 12.4% of them are doctors of sciences and professors; 65.6% are candidates of sciences and assistant professors.
