TISM's 170 Russell secret gig, Melbourne 26-11-2022. Made entirely of videos from 18 fans. This live gig was promoted as "Rex Oedipus & Jack 'Elephant' Titus". The band performed three secret gigs after a 19 year break in preparation for their Good Things 2022 performance: this was the final secret show and is regarded as the best. The band was on point and full of energy for the whole hour. Was this to be the last time TISM performed in a venue? Time will tell.

This video is made public with the graceful permission of the band.

Vision: Full credits below. 18 fans ended up contributing 100 clips, but only 2 clips ran the entire length of the show. These 2x one hour long clips from ‪@kingbean28‬ and ‪@beheaded‬ made this effort possible and provided solid bones to hang the show off. Editing should help highlight the natural vibe from the music and the band, but in many cases shots had to be terminated early or started late, because phones would get bumped, blocked, or dropped! And most shots lasted under a minute - everything was unplanned and uncoordinated, of course. All this made for a somewhat chaotic and less than optimal editing process. But there was always enough to make it work and keep the focus on the band. The most taxing part was synchronising the100 clips to the master audio track, and placing them in their order of events. We have 18 wonderful fans to thank for this vision, check the video for the end credits and below.

Sound: Extra effort has been made with the sound because pocket recordings often sound ratty. It was recorded in the crowd and is a mix of a crisp audio recording from ‪@kingbean28‬ down the back, augmented with bass frequencies from ‪@beheaded‬ up the front, de-reverbed to try and clamp down on the venue's natural reverberations, and brightened for what is hopefully the clearest and fullest sounding fan recording of this gig. The mix retains the sound of the audience singing with the band the entire show, a unique (but NOT shithouse) experience for TISM fans who had been waiting 19 years for a day they thought would never come. Watch for the moments Humphrey stops singing and lets the audience take it away for a line or two. Everyone was making the most of it and I am glad I can say I was there!
