Authentic 1974 Electra 2236 Flying Wedge a.k.a Electra Flying V

This guitar is the same make and model as Metallica's James Hetfield's OGV and his other two white V guitars that he now plays on the M72 tour. This particular guitar was originally purchased at a music store back in December of 1974. I got it from the original owner who was 17 years old at the time when he bought it just two days before Christmas 1974. He kept it all these years and after 51 years he finally decided to let it go along with the rest of his guitar collection.

The Electra 2236 Flying Wedge was made by the Matsumoku factory in Japan and was initially sold in the U.S. from 1974 until they were discontinued sometime in the early 1980s. They were available through music stores and guitar galleries across the U.S. or through mail order catalogs like Montgomery Ward. James Hetfield of Metallica acquired his Electra Flying Wedge in 1980, so it's safe to say that his guitar was built somewhere between 1974 and 1980.
